You are (still) wonderful

In between rainy grey days, the sun has come out and I've been able to get the photos taken for the D&AD brief. Just need to sort out how the Metro logo and "It's a pick me up" strapline will sit, and it'll just about be sorted!

This Is Home

Remember my Bear Hugs illustration for the This Is Home project? Well it made it in to the final 10, and packs of the postcards are now available on Etsy! Exciting stuff. Really nice selection of images, and chuffed to be a part of it. Nice one Christa and Erin!

Wonderful No.2

Making progress with this compliments project, now. I've not actually explained what it's all about, have I?

It's for one of the D&AD Student Award briefs, to advertise Metro newspapers.

Metro = morning newspaper you pick up in cities = quick, easy read = not heavy-going = acts a a pick-me-up in the morning.

Compliments = pick-me-up. This project = getting strange looks as I go around town sticking things on walls.

Tried lots of different methods, but opting for cut-out newspaper letters, as it maintains that link with Metro. The next couple of weeks will involve a lot of newspaper, scissors, Blu-tak and wandering around looking for suitable walls.

Back in to the swing of things at uni now. Working on a new brief. My focus is compliments/pick-me-ups. This could develop in a number of ways. I went for the hand lettering approach today, but mainly because I'm full of cold and drawing words isn't too taxing...
